Wrapping Up 2025 With a Full Heart

Somehow we’ve made it to December again, and honestly… how?! We blinked, poured a few hundred cups of Norm’s coffee, baked a whole lot of breakfast in ramekins, ran winery hops all over the Grand River Valley, and cooked what felt like a mountain of bacon - and suddenly the year is nearly over.

And what a year. If you stayed with us in 2025, chatted with us over breakfast, tagged us on Instagram, waved from the porch, or just cheered us on from afar -thank you. You’re the reason we get to do this. Every story shared at the table, every anniversary toast, every “do you think we can squeeze in just one more winery?” moment added to the memories we’ll carry into 2026 with huge smiles.

Next year kicks off our 14th year at His Majesty’s Bed & Breakfast. The B&B itself has been here since 2003, and we purchased it in August of 2012 — which means we’ve officially been innkeepers for 4,878 days. If you told us back then what those days would look like, we probably would’ve laughed… and then asked where the coffee was. This little Victorian home in Madison Village has become a place where people propose, reconnect, decompress, and occasionally eat way too many carbs on purpose. It’s been a ride - a good one - and we’re grateful every single day that you choose to be a part of it.

December is our quiet season. We step back, catch our breath, and plot out new ideas for the year ahead. The breakfast experiments have already begun, of course.

While we won’t be posting nonstop through the winter, we’re still around. If you want to peek in on what we’re up to - usually something behind-the-scenes or slightly chaotic - come hang out with us on our socials.

Here’s to a peaceful December, a fresh new year, and many more mornings around our table.

See you in 2026.

Laura & Norm
