By the time Shirley Hardman bought the house in 1973, this historic home in Madison, Ohio had already seen generations of owners and changes. Families came and went, each leaving something behind. Then Shirley arrived - and people in Madison still remember her. A Life Before Madison Shirley was born in 1921, one of two daughters born to Anson and Nellie Hardman. She grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where her father worked for the telephone company, eventually becoming a publi
