Warm Weather Adventures in Madison, Ohio: Outdoor Fun Near the B&B
It’s finally warm outside, and we couldn’t be more excited to shake off winter and enjoy the sunshine! The days are longer, the skies are brighter, and it’s the perfect time to explore all the outdoor gems around the B&B. Whether you’re into hiking, beach days, or simply lounging with a drink in hand, there’s something nearby for everyone.
Hiking & Parks: Fresh Air and Scenic Views

There’s nothing like a walk through the woods to clear your head and soak in the season. Here are some local spots worth stretching your legs for:
Big Oak Loop at Riverview Park – Our favorite local trail. Peaceful, shaded, and just the right mix of easy and adventurous. Bonus: occasional peeks at the Grand River.
Hogback Ridge Park – A great choice if you’re up for a bit more of a workout. Think ravines, wooded trails, and quiet moments surrounded by trees.
Lake Erie Bluffs – Don’t skip the observation tower here—the views of the lake are incredible. The trails are a breeze to walk and there’s plenty of space to sit and take it all in.
Geneva State Park – A little drive, but totally worth it. Easy trails, lake breezes, and wildflowers galore once things really warm up.
Water Activities: Paddling & Beach Days

Ready to get on the water? Whether you're paddling, floating, or just taking in the view, here’s where to go:
Harbor Yak – Located in Ashtabula Harbor, Harbor Yak rents kayaks, paddleboards, hydro-bikes, and more. They also offer sunset paddles and guided tours—perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to explore without the stress of planning.
Grand River Canoeing & Kayaking – The Grand River is a favorite local route for good reason. Calm, scenic, and dotted with convenient launch points.
Geneva State Park Beach – Wide, sandy, and chill. Great for beachcombing, paddleboarding, or stretching out with a good book.
Madison Township Park Beach – A smaller, quieter spot to enjoy the water. Ideal if you’re looking to keep it low-key and local.
Outdoor Patios & Sipping in the Sunshine

After a day outside, nothing beats finding a sunny patio and settling in with a drink.
Local wineries have plenty of patio space, often with live music and fire pits for evening hangouts. Whether you’re there to sip or just relax, the atmosphere never disappoints.
A Leisurely Stroll & Relaxing at the B&B
If you’re more into slow strolls and good views, walk down Main Street in Madison
Village. The historic homes and friendly charm make it worth the wander. And when you’re done? Come back and relax on our front porch with a cup of coffee (or other adult beverage), or slip out to the backyard patio for a bit of peace and quiet.
Bonus: On Tuesday evenings, there’s a classic car show right across the street. And on Thursdays, the square comes alive with live music—perfect for enjoying the warm air and small-town charm without going far at all.
Time to Get Outside!
