Hi everyone! It dawned on me today that some of our followers on social media might not know anything about us. So I thought I should share a little history on us, our family and the B&B.
Norm and I met in 1985 when I picked him up at a dance club. Norm doesn't dance and was standing against the wall when I, thinking I was so clever, asked him if he was holding up the wall. I was 18 and he was 20 - so young!
We were married 3 years later and over the next 8 years welcomed our 3 daughters, Meghan, Emily & Katie. Life was great!
In 1997, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to the support of Norm, my family and of course the doctors and nurses we made it through! I think we actually came out better.
Normal life changes happened; kids grew up, girl scouts, baseball games, orchestra concerts, etc. In 2011, Norm and our daughter Emily had some health scares (completely separate from each other) 2 weeks apart. After, Norm and I decided we wanted a change. We decided to open a coffee shop and small bakery. We contacted a real estate agent, Priscilla, to start looking into retail spaces to rent. After a few months and no luck finding the right spot, Priscilla asked if we ever thought of owning a B&B. I said no, but I wasn't opposed to the idea. I drove by and immediately called Priscilla to set up an appointment to look inside and meet the owners. Needless to say, we purchased the B&B (actually they agreed to sell it to us)
We have owned the B&B for almost 8 years and love every minute of it.
Our life has changed in so many ways!
We now have 4 grandkids, live in a tiny house and are innkeepers!
We'd love to hear your story.
